John omits many things characteristic to the synoptics- narrative parables, the transfiguration, the record of the institution of the Lord’s Supper, and many of Jesus’ pithy sayings. The theme of the Kingdom of God/heaven is not there,
John however has stuff the synoptics do not… John 1-5 Jesus’ frequent visits to Jerusalem, the resurrection of Lazarus, extended dialogues and discourses, etc…
